About WebTrek
WebTrek builds free AI SEO tools and plain-English guides for people who run a website but are not SEO specialists. Every tool ends in step-by-step fixes, not just a score.
What WebTrek does
AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews now answer many questions that used to send people to websites. WebTrek helps site owners see how those systems read their pages and what to change so the right page gets understood, summarized, and cited.
We focus on three things:
- Step-by-step fixes. Each result tells you what to change on the page, in order, instead of leaving you with a number.
- Plain English. No jargon you have to look up first. If a term matters, we define it.
- Free to use. The three core tools are free and work without an account.
The tools
- Free AI SEO Checker: a page-level audit that shows how AI search reads one URL, with ready-to-use headings, meta tags, FAQ copy, and schema suggestions.
- Free AI Visibility Checker: a 0–100 AI Visibility Score built from five 20-point pillars, simulated AI answers about your brand, and a prioritized action plan.
- Free JSON-LD Schema Generator: copy-paste structured data generated from a live page.
- Website Architecture for AI Search (paid): a site-level report on content hubs, internal linking, and page relationships, for problems that span many pages.
Not sure where to start? The tools hub compares them by use case.
Who writes the guides
Most WebTrek guides are written by Shanshan Yue, who has published more than 120 articles on the WebTrek blog since 2024, covering AI search visibility, structured data, internal linking, and practical AI SEO workflows for small teams. You can find Shanshan on LinkedIn.
How we write and update content
- Answer first. Guides open with the direct answer, then explain the reasoning and the steps.
- Honest about limits. Our tools simulate and estimate how AI systems read a page. They do not claim to show exactly what any one engine will say, and we say so on each tool page.
- Dated updates. When a guide changes in a meaningful way, its "Updated" date changes too. Older advice that no longer holds is merged, rewritten, or removed.
- One page per question. We keep a single, maintained page for each topic instead of many overlapping posts.
